Most probably refers to not being able to change the modifiers on green weapons.

I know, I'll probably playing the wrong game; maybe WoW is a better candidate for high-end players with ambitions for uniqueness and reward. But after 16 months in GW, I kinda stuck with this game and will accept new updates even though day by day; GW bury their own grave.
I think the inscriptions are just the 15 over 50 things right?

That wouldn't screw up the market.

The only thing REALLY screwing up the market now, is all the people buying gold (seems to be more than half the population). Now most of these people run atleast 1 warrior character, and they've shot the price of Swords and Axes through the roof. Getting a perfect axe isn't as hard as getting a perfect staff with all the same atributes but the price difference is amazing.

Now say one of us players who as been around since the release decides to make a Dervish. We've got this nice looking Purple Req 10 Scythe, BUT it has 16 below 50, I'd rather be able to change that buy buying a part.

I'd rather not wait for some farmer to come up with that same scythe with a better mod but about 5x the price (As it is I don't buy weapons).

But you are making it sound like you think these will change the damage, I don't think that is the case.

Say you got druids armor + energy but no ele specific armor. (Ranger)

Now you change your build and you don't need the energy, instead of buying a whole studded set, you buy one thing and your armor changes from druids to studded in atributes. (This way you don't have to FILL your inventory with armor).

Thats my guess.

Default My thoughts on the PC Gamer article

the PC Gamer article was definitely nice. It basically overviewed many of the new features and enhancements of Nightfall, and if there was any doubt that Nightfall will breath new life into this game, this article got rid of it.

My favorite feature by far was the inclusion of the drinking and dancing games. Apparently there is a mini-game where you go to a party and steal drinks from people in a certain amount of time. It's these little touches that really add to the game, imho. Not to mention some quest involving you to ride a giant Wurm to your destination, where it will eat you whole allowing you to steer it.

Apparently they've gotten some big-shot D&D writer, who is basically writing the storyline and lore. The voice-acting, according to PC Gamer, has been given special attention too.

Assassins and Rits get skills, the salvage system is being tweaked, upgrades are called "inscriptions" now... not sure how that works, but it essentially lets you mix-and-match upgrades easier.

The only thing that wasn't mentioned was the possible new HDR lighting for the game. There's a video on google videos of someone playing, and the graphics look really different. It doesn't say whether Nightfall has new graphics features, so it's possible that they just use better textures.

no no no, grenths avatar is the coolest.

I think the skill needs a slight buff tho... but we shall see.

----------

inscriptions- good. no more will I feel like a joke trying to sell a 14^50 max item, or a non-max 15 always or things of that nature.

maybe I shouldnt have sold all those crappy "near perfect" zodiac/jade/celestial items I got on double elite weekend & chest run weekend

and likewise I see no reason why the staff inscriptions (sorry just wanted to say it) wouldnt be the same. The word inscriptions just sounds tough.

that armor thing really has me wondering tho... been shard hunting all week for my ritualist because I figured Id have one armor for spiritspam (i have) and one for healing/channeling.... Im going to have to hold off on that now (im halfway there for the fissure hat:P)

Maybe they took this on board? It could be one of many different variations of a basic idea; the idea of turning inherent stats of weapons AND armour into another tangible item that can be either applied or switched. My guess is that armour merchants will only sell the basic armour sets that have no stats, and the stats can be bought as 'armour inscriptions' and added after. Maybe even swapped after purchase. So you buy your Kurzick set and then add the Ascetic Inscription. Maybe it becomes available for all your armour skins in future. But that's all speculation, maybe it'll just be runes.

Do you have the November PC Gamer? It's not out everywhere yet, so it might just be that you don't have the right month.
Yes it is the November, on the page where there is the white space where it is supposed to be there is nothing, figures it happened to me.

I hope these new salvage options mean I can make my own purple triple attribute caster items instead of having to open chests to get them

The little white box on page 96, next to the cardboard [subscribe to pc gamer!] page? If that's the white box that's blank, that is indeed where the key is supposed to be, and that totally sucks if yours is blank.

I wanted to warn people that if you go buy your copy of pc gamer in the store, it is NOT plastic-wrapped, so it's very likely that someone looked through all the magazines in several stores and wrote down all of the access keys and sold them on ebay before you even bought the magazine.

I bought mine just now and thankfully my key worked, but for people who buy it after keys have been up on ebay for longer, might not be so lucky.

So yours had plastic wrap? Which store did it come from? Mine was from Borders and none of them were plastic wrapped there.

That's some really terrible luck that yours was even safely plastic-wrapped and there was no access key. Maybe you can call or e-mail pc gamer and they can hook you up with a minipet key?

Oh wow, did anyone see the "monsters" section where they have "Marganite Paragon"? Maybe it's Margonite Paragon, which would mean we get to find out about the Margonites too

Borders doesn't carry the plastic wrapped version of PCGamer cause they let everyone read their magazines facilitating key thieves. But my local Compusa has the bagged PCGamers.

--We don't just find out about the Margonites; we kill them. If you watch the Nightfall trailer, you see a Dervish killing one and the prerelease bonus pack says the Margonites worship the evil god that's screwing up Elona.

Damn those tree-hugging hippes at Borders!! There were plenty of magazines that were plastic-wrapped so I don't understand why they would take all the PC Gamer magazines out of the plastic, or why they would let other people sit there and open all the magazines and then not pay for them.

Wish I could get the preorder pack so I could read juicy details like "the Margonites worship the evil god"...

That detail about the evil god's name being stricken from history reminded me of this:
